Outplacement Services available

Services Provided
Hartley People can / will design a programme that meets your specific and individual needs.
We can work with individuals to simply develop a High Impact, Achievement Based CV or we can work only on Interview Tips and Techniques. Alternatively, we can develop a programme that consists of any number and combination of the following services:

CVs that get you Noticed
Almost three out of every four C.V.’s that are submitted for a vacant position are rejected at the “sort” stage. Hartley People will develop a C.V. / Resume for the participant that will create a positive impression and that will increase the chances of getting past the critical sorting stage of the recruitment process. The participant will receive 10 x hard copies of the CV and a copy in electronic format (e-mail, memory stick or disk).

Better Letters / e-Mails
Hartley People will help participants to construct professional cover letters and / or e-mails that will complement their C.V. ‘s and create that critical positive first impression.

Winning at Interviews
The interview is arguably the most critical part of the recruitment process even-though it is a largely unreliable selection tool. Hartley People will assist participants to present themselves in the most positive way, thereby ensuring that they create a lasting and favourable impression. Participants will receive two individual consultations – the first will offer practical tips and techniques for improvement and the second will involve a video-recorded ‘mock’ interview (with full feedback session afterwards).

Job Searching Techniques - How, Where and When?
This service will help participants in their journey to new employment, showing them how and where to search for vacancies and when to follow up on applications. We will also provide participants with the skills to search for vacancies on the internet.

Career Pathways
This service will help to clearly identify the career objectives of the individual and will thereafter help him/her to implement a practical plan for achievement of same.

Self Profiling: What Am I Really Like?
Hartley People will use various profiling tools and techniques to assist participants in making the most appropriate choices for the future by analysing personal strengths and improvement areas.

Work and Life Skills
This service will help participants to “package” their skills in the most saleable and advantageous format possible. We will identify the full range of transferable work and life skills that have been acquired by the individual that could be of benefit to a potential employer.

Training Needs Analysis
Having identified the personal and work related objectives of the participant and thereafter charting a career path plan, Hartley People can also identify the training needs of the individual that will have to be addressed in order to achieve these objectives.

Money Matters
Hartley People will offer participants advice on pensions, savings and investments from a qualified Financial Consultant. This will be of particular interest at a time when there may be financial concerns for the participant and his/her family.

Counselling
This can be a stressful, uncertain and insecure time for participants and the services of a professional counsellor may be required to ensure that the participant can turn negative feelings and self doubt into a positive energy which will be required to ensure that alternative employment is secured and personal goals are achieved.

Partner CounsellingThis can be an equally stressful and uncertain time for the partner of the participant being outplaced, and professional counselling can therefore be offered to this person also to help them through this difficult time.

Office and Administration Support
Participants may require the use of many office accessories such as a computer, printer, fax, telephone and/or photocopier during this time. All of these facilities, plus secretarial support can be made available to the participant to assist them in their search for new employment.

Registration
All participants on our outplacement programmes will be automatically registered on the recruitment database of our sister company, Hartley People Recruitment. Candidates will thereby be considered for positions for which they are deemed suitable by our recruitment consultants. This is a critical service to participants as we continue to work closely with them after the outplacement programme has been completed.
